ShelfSplit Consignment terms of service

Last updated October 2026

These terms are an agreement between Mandalika Bhadradri Sai Kapil Sarma, trading as Tillwork (“we”) and the business that installs ShelfSplit Consignment on its Shopify store (“you”). By installing or using the app you accept them and the privacy policy. If you don’t accept them, uninstall the app.

What the app does

The app records consignment sales from your store, works out what each consignor is owed, and helps you run and record payouts. It doesn’t move money: you pay consignors yourself, and the app records what you tell it. Balances, statements and year-end totals help with your bookkeeping but aren’t tax, legal or accounting advice. Check them before you pay anyone or file anything.

Plans and billing

Paid plans are billed by Shopify, on your Shopify bill, at the prices shown on the app’s Shopify App Store listing. Each plan starts with a free trial. You can change plans at any time, and uninstalling the app ends your plan. Shopify’s terms govern charges, credits and refunds. We’ll give at least 30 days’ notice before raising the price of your plan.

Data protection

This section is our data processing agreement with you. Where it conflicts with anything else in these terms, this section wins.

Terms used here

  • Store data means the data the app holds for your store, listed under “What the app holds”.
  • Personal data means information about an identifiable person, such as a consignor’s name or email.
  • Data protection laws means the privacy laws that apply to you or to us, such as the EU and UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act.
  • Subprocessor means a company we use to host or back up store data.

Roles

You decide what store data the app holds and why. We process it only on your behalf and on your instructions, which are these terms and the way you set up and use the app. Under the GDPR you are the controller and we are your processor; under California law we are your service provider. We’ll tell you if we think an instruction breaks data protection laws.

What the app holds

  • Your store’s Shopify address, name, currency, time zone and plan, and the access key Shopify issues so the app can read your orders, products and locations.
  • Orders that include consignment items: the order number, sales channel, location, dates, payment status and, for each item, its title, SKU, vendor, quantity, price, discount, tax and refunds. Shopify sends more than this with each order, including customer details. The app keeps only these fields and discards the rest as soon as it arrives.
  • Product titles and vendor names you link to consignors.
  • Consignor details you enter: name, email, phone, code, commission, booth rent and notes.
  • The sales, refunds, rent, adjustments and payouts recorded for each consignor, including the payment method and reference you record.

The personal data involved is about your consignors. The app doesn’t keep personal data about your customers or your staff. Please don’t put bank account numbers, tax ID numbers or other sensitive details in consignor notes; the app isn’t built to hold them.

How it’s used

Only to provide the app to you: to match sales to consignors, work out balances, run payouts, produce statements, exports and reports, and show each consignor their own balance page if you turn that on. We don’t sell or share store data, use it for advertising, build profiles from it, combine it with other data, or use it to make automated decisions about anyone.

Who can see it

In your store, staff with access to the app can see store data. If you turn on a consignor’s balance page, whoever has its private link can see that consignor’s own sales, rent and payouts, and nothing else. On our side, only the people who run the app can reach store data. They use that access only to run the app, fix problems and answer your requests, and they’re bound to keep it confidential.

Security

Store data travels over HTTPS and is encrypted where it’s stored, including in backups. The server and backups can only be reached with our credentials, protected by two-step sign-in where the provider offers it. The app only ever shows a store its own data. We keep these measures up to date as risks change.

Subprocessors

We use a hosting provider to run the app and a storage provider for encrypted backups. They process store data only to provide those services, under written terms that protect it at least as well as these, and we remain responsible for them. Ask us for the current list. Before adding or replacing one, we’ll tell you in the app or by email, and if you object you can uninstall the app, which deletes your store data as described below.

Transfers between countries

Store data may be processed in countries other than yours, including where we and our providers work. When data protection laws require safeguards for a transfer, such as one out of the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses (module two, controller to processor), with the UK addendum where needed, apply to it and form part of these terms, with you as the data exporter and us as the data importer.

How long it’s kept

Store data is kept while the app is installed. When you uninstall the app, Shopify asks it to erase your store’s data 48 hours later, and it deletes all of it then. Backups roll over and no longer contain the data after 30 days. You can ask us to delete your store data sooner.

Requests about personal data

You can see and correct consignor details in the app. If a consignor asks you to erase their details, you can clear them in the app or ask us to erase them. If someone asks us directly about their data, we’ll pass the request to you and won’t answer it ourselves unless you ask us to. Shopify’s requests about your customers need no action, because the app holds no customer data.

Security incidents

If we learn that store data has been lost, or accessed or disclosed without permission, we’ll tell you without undue delay and within 72 hours. We’ll say what happened, what data was involved and what we’re doing about it, and help you meet any duty you have to notify others.

Your part

You’re responsible for having the right to give us the consignor details you enter, for telling your consignors how their information is used, for keeping balance page links private, and for deciding which staff can use the app.

Showing that we comply

We’ll answer reasonable questions about how we protect store data, give you the information you need to show that your use of the app meets data protection laws, and cooperate with any audit those laws require.

Fair use

Use the app only for your own store’s lawful business. Don’t try to reach other stores’ data, disrupt the app, or copy or reverse engineer it.

Availability and changes

We work to keep the app running, but it may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside our control, and we may change or remove features. We’ll post changes to these terms on this page at least 30 days before they take effect, and tell you in the app or by email about any that matter. Using the app after that means you accept them. If we ever close the app, we’ll give at least 30 days’ notice so you can download your records first.

No warranty

As far as the law allows, the app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. We don’t promise it will be free of errors, and you’re responsible for checking balances and payouts before you pay anyone.

Limit of liability

As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue or goodwill, and our total liability to you under these terms is limited to what you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that the law doesn’t allow to be limited.

Ending

You can stop at any time by uninstalling the app. We may suspend or end your use of it if you break these terms, with notice where we can give it. The data protection section keeps applying for as long as we hold any of your store data.
