ShelfSplit Consignment privacy policy
ShelfSplit Consignment helps Shopify stores that sell items on consignment work out what each consignor is owed. This page explains what the app stores and why. The data protection section of the terms of service sets out how it’s protected on your behalf.
What the app stores
- From your Shopify store: its name, currency and time zone, and copies of orders that include consignment items. Order copies hold the items, prices, discounts, taxes, refunds and store location only. They don’t include your customers’ names, emails, phone numbers or addresses.
- Product vendor names and product titles you assign to consignors, used to recognize consignment items.
- Consignor details you enter: name, email, phone, code, commission, booth rent and notes. You decide what to enter.
- The sales, refunds, rent, adjustments and payouts recorded for each consignor.
How it’s used
Only to calculate consignor balances, run payouts and show reports to you and, if you turn it on, to each consignor on their own private balance page. The data isn’t sold, shared with advertisers or used for anything else.
Your customers
The app doesn’t store personal data about your store’s customers. Requests from customers to see or erase their data therefore need no action from the app, and it answers Shopify’s privacy webhooks accordingly.
Keeping and deleting data
Data is kept while the app is installed. When you uninstall it, Shopify asks the app to erase your store’s data 48 hours later, and everything stored for your store is deleted then. You can also ask for deletion sooner.
Where it’s stored
On the app’s server, in a database that only the app can reach, on an encrypted disk with encrypted backups. Data travels over HTTPS.
